ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the composition and distribution of metal and metalloids in fine particulate metter in a certain area of Shanghai through four consecutive years of dynamic monitoring. Methods The sampling point was on the roof of a community health service center in Shanghai, with a height of 12.5 meters. In the four winters of 2014-2017 from Dec. to Feb. next year, samples were continuously collected for 7 days(from 10th to 16th) a month and 22 hours for each day.Inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) was used for the determination of metals and metalloids in collected samples. Results The pairwise comparisons between the total metals, Al, Be, Cr, Hg, Pb, Mn, Ni, Se and Tl in any two years were statistically different through the rank sum test.In the Cochran-Armitage trend test, Al showed an upward trend in the whole periods, while Cr, Pb and Ni was on a downward trend. In factor analysis, factor 1 in each year had relatively stable component elements (As, Cd, Pb, Mn, Se), while the internal components of the remaining factors were relatively unstable. Conclusions There may be relatively stable sources of pollution locally.Al, Cr, Pb and Ni have a significant tendency to increase or decrease.

ABSTRACT

In order to clarify the chemical composition and source of Banxia Xiexin decoction quickly and comprehensively, whole and individual herbs of Banxia Xiexin decoction were analyzed by ultra-performance liquid chromatography with quadrupole-time-of-flight mass spectrometry (UPLC/Q-TOF-MS(E)). Under identical experiment conditions, chromatography results were compared between experiment groups. Based on the Q-TOF-MS(E) analysis, 74 peaks were identified on line. The herbal sources of these peaks were assigned. The results implied that flavonoids, triterpenoid saponins, alkaloids and glycosides were the main components in effective part of Banxia Xiexin decoction. The method established is simple and rapid for elucidation the constituents of Banxia Xiexin decoction and the results could be used for the quality control of Banxia Xiexin decoction.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVETo investigate the changes of osteopontin (OPN) in the liver tissues during nonalcoholic fatty liver fibrosis in rats and to explore the effect of OPN in the development of nonalcoholic fatty liver fibrosis.

METHODSFifty-six male Wistar rats were randomly divided into a control group (8 rats) and a high-fat diet group. The high-fat diet group was divided into 6 subgroups (8 rats in each subgroup) with high-fat feedings for 4, 8, 12, 16, 20 or 24 weeks. Conventional histochemical, HE, Masson-trichrome and immunohistochemical staining for alpha-smooth muscle actin (a-SMA) were performed with the liver histological preparations. The expression of OPN was detected with reverse transcription and polymerase chain reactions and Western blot.

RESULTSLevels of OPN in liver tissues in rat nonalcoholic fatty liver fibrosis induced by high-fat diet were significantly increased over those in the control group (F=7.15, P less than 0.01). OPN expressions were closely correlated with a-SMA and nonalcoholic fatty liver fibrosis, and correlation coefficients of the two groups were 0.94 and 0.82, and both P values were less than 0.01.

CONCLUSIONExpression of OPN increases dramatically in the livers during the development of nonalcoholic fatty liver fibrosis, and OPN may play an important role in this event.

ABSTRACT

@#ObjectiveTo investigate the effect of massage therapy on cerebral palsy children with strabismus.Methods60 cerebral palsy children with strabismus were divided into the treatment group (30 cases) and control group (30 cases). Children of the treatment group were treated with massage therapy "YangGan RouJin Fa", those of the control group were not given any treatment, 30 strabismus children without cerebral palsy were treated with massage therapy "YangGan RouJin Fa" as the observation group.ResultsEffect of the treatment group was significantly different from the control group (P<0.01), and observation group (P<0.05).Conclusionmassage therapy "YangGan RouJin Fa" is a efficient method to strabismus in cerebral palsy children.
